Hi there, I’m Ricky. I’m a native Chinese speaker with significant experience teaching non-native speakers. I previously taught Chinese at Shanghai Jiaotong University. I now exclusively tutor people online. I’ve tutored for over 7 years. I have a bachelor degree in arts, majoring in International Economy and Trade. I can speak fluently English. I passed CET 6 (College English Test level of 6 in China) in university.

I can teach all levels of Chinese, specially beginner level and business Chinese. My students range from all different ages and backgrounds. I will make proper plan for students base on their level and goals.

I also have experience teaching children and teenagers. Now about 50% of my students are under the age of 18. As a mom, I am also raising my own daughter and son. I believe I have very good patience when dealing with children.

Also, I have experience preparing students for different Chinese tests, like HSK, YCT and AP Chinese. I have helped many students pass their HSK exam. If you have other Chinese tests you would like me to help prepare for, please submit the test material to me and I can help you prepare for those Chinese tests.

I’d like to communicate with my students in more practical way and go to more deep level, not just explain the text book. I hope that through my class, students can learn more about Chinese history, culture and how the Chinese see things.

Hi I am Alex, a native Chinese speaker fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. I am an English teacher in China, with a Teachers Qualification Certificate (China), I've been teaching kids English for five years. Graduated from Wuzhou University, my main subject was International Trading English. I have a background in the export business for more than 10 years.

As an experienced teacher, I am keeping a sense of understanding my students well. By studying my students' pronunciation, mistakes on grammar, or other learning behaviors, I could deduce what problems my students might face, thus helping you to improve your Chinese.

I would include different teaching methods in my class. From students point of view, you would see me showing props, or a short movie, you would see a grammar structure being written on a white board, you would see me replacing flash cards to lead you to say Chinese sentences.

I use our trial lesson to get to know each other. Meanwhile, I also discuss about the learning targets and the method we will use. Before the trial lesson, you are welcomed to send me a message about what you’ve known and what you want to learn if you wish. If you prefer your own material, please send it to me and I can teach accordingly. If you’d like me to prepare materials, I can design a tailored made lesson and modify it accordingly. For adults, I use HSK most of the time. For children, I have used different text books from their schools. I put effort to prepare my lesson plan and adapt it to student’s learning progress on the way. During the lessons, I explain the teaching plan and how we can achieve it with mutual effort. I give a lot of chances to students and encourage them to use the language in speaking and sometimes writing if they’d like to have some homework.

- 1 year in an expatriate agency to assist visa for foreigners in China. Meanwhile, I helped to match foreign teachers to language schools accordingly.
- 2.5 years I worked in an international preschool as customer service role to build good relationships with parents. Meanwhile, I managed a team of 20 teachers/caretakers for a period of time.
-2 years I worked in an AML project for a HK bank in an audit firm in Guangzhou.
-2.5 years I worked as a shadow teacher for a primary student studying in a British curriculum based school in China.
-Currently I am working in a learning support (SEN) department in an international school.
